Occupational Health Safety & Welfare

UCWPA is committed to providing a safe working environment for employees, volunteers and contractors.

This commitment is expressed in the Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare Policy and supporting policies.

Responsibility for OHS&W matters rests with site/service managers, the site/service Health and Safety Committee and the UCWPA OHSW&IM Steering Committee.

The OHS&W Coordinator in conjunction with Health and Safety Committees provides services and advice in a range of matters including:

  • Hazard management
  • Action plans
  • Inspections and audits
  • Incident investigation
  • Incident statistics
  • Training
  • Employee assistance program

All UCWPA's Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare systems aim to prevent workplace injury. However, it is recognised that accidents or illness may occur, and in all such situations UCWPA is committed to effective injury management and rehabilitation. The HR Coordinator is the accredited Rehabilitation Return to Work Coordinator within UCWPA.
