Ethnic Link Services
Ethnic Link Services

Ethnic Link Services is a statewide program funded by the Department of Human Services (DOHA) within the Home and Community Care (HACC) program that aims to ensure people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds have access to supports that will assist them to remain living in their own home. Our target group is the frail elderly and their carers. We operate across metropolitan Adelaide, the Riverland and Whyalla.

Our role is to ensure equity of access to mainstream services for our client group, by providing language assistance, information and advocacy. We are not an interpreting service.

We employ bilingual, bi-cultural staff who:

  • through language assistance, advocate and link clients to services
  • provide information about available services
  • assist with correspondence and arrange appointments
  • help settle clients into social and therapeutic activities
  • provide social programs for specific CALD communities (download an English brochure for specifics)

Referrals can be self referrals, made by family, friends, service providers or ethnic communities. Our coordinators, together with a bilingual worker, will visit the client in their home to assist them to identify their needs and develop a case plan which is then implemented by the allocated Ethnic Link Worker.

Referrals can be made by either phoning (08) 8241 0201 or by downloading a referral form.
South Australian country areas can access our service by calling 1800 648 598 (freecall).

Note: the completed form can be either emailed to or faxed to (08) 8241 0280.

Our Postal Address is PO Box 3032, Port Adelaide 5015. We are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
