This program whose Kaurna name means 'Families Becoming Stronger', offers a culturally appropriate and sensitive service to Aboriginal families that aims to strengthen family relationships. We work using strengths based principles that promote a positive and effective approach to parenting and relationships.
Services offered include:
Home based support
This is a home based support service for Aboriginal families and children that provides assessment and support to assist families to cope with the differing demands of raising children.
Information and Referral
This program provides information on community services and networks and will provide referrals where appropriate.
Advocacy
May assist by advocating for families and children with community organisations, education systems and in the legal arena where appropriate.
Groups
Groups that aim to enhance social, cultural and personal development are provided occasionally for parents and caregivers.
Community Development
Support to and the development of networks, relationships and partnerships between the Aboriginal Community and organisations in the Western region.
