Emergency Assistance

Each year our Emergency Assistance area provides food vouchers, food parcels, and other practical assistance to over 6,500 people in need. We assist low-income individuals and families who live in the local Port Adelaide area.

Types of assistance may include:

  • Food vouchers
  • Food parcels
  • Clothing vouchers
  • One-of assistance for prescription medicine
  • Telstra vouchers (once only assistance)

Income and residency criteria apply. Please bring a current Centrelink card (health care or pension card) or a current Centrelink Income Statement. Households may receive practical assistance up to 2 times in a 12 month period.

Other services include:

  • free used clothing/linen (when available)
  • free bread when available
  • information and referral to other services

Family & Support Services is open on:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday:   9.00 am to 4.00 pm
Wednesday:   9.00 am to 12 noon

No appointmnet is necessary.
