Country to City Anangu Women in Leadership Project

Empowering Anangu women in the west of Adelaide on their transition from country to city.

Program aims:

• To bring together Anangu women from the Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara lands who have moved to the western region of Adelaide to be involved in a leadership project.
• To encourage Anangu women to use their existing strong identities and knowledge as elders and leaders to empower their families and community.
• To produce educational tools through a series of informative and creative workshops. These will be used to support new arrivals form the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara lands in learning skills which will help them integrate into a new environment and new way of living.
• This project will empower women with information and mentoring support, to help enable them to spread information to their families on topics relating to finance, education, health, safety, wellbeing and maintaining culture.
