Employment Access Morphett Vale

Employment Access Morphett Vale provides professional guidance and support to people with disabilities, particularly mental health related disabilities, to gain and maintain employment.

Eligibility:
Job Seekers with barriers to employment are assessed by Centrelink using a Job Capacity Assessment to determine eligibility. Job Seekers can contact their local Centerlink office who will arrange for a job capacity assessment.

How the Program Works:
Job Seekers work on a one to one or group basis with a Vocational Consultant to develop a comprehensive Employment Assistance Plan to meet employment goals and needs. Actions may include:

  • Skills Review
  • Resume Preparation
  • Career Planning
  • Training Needs Analysis
  • Job Search Techniques
  • Interview Skills
  • Cold canvassing to employers
  • Work Experience Placements to determine job suitability and gain references
  • On going support after employment achieved
  • Opportunities to breakdown other barriers to employment

Other Features:

  • Staff experienced in Mental Health issues
  • Financial Incentives to Employers to train new workers
  • Confidence building and personal effectiveness activities
  • Job clubs/ workshops can be arranged to improve chances of gaining employment
