Our consultations and research have highlighted the need to fund improved community and stakeholder understanding and information around 'Child Friendly Communities' and respond flexibly to local level initiatives.
The 'Child Friendly Communities' component has been contracted to consultants - Urban & Regional Planning Solutions.
It is intended that the Strategy will improve and update the knowledge and skills of local service providers; influence the planning and integration of service delivery to better meet the needs of families and children; strengthen communities through interagency collaboration and community participation in decision-making processes relating to the provision of services.
Stage One the scoping of the project & Stage Two community and service provider consultations have been completed. Stage Three the implementation of actions identified to commence in 2006.
