Westminster Village is an accredited Aged Care Facility providing 46 High Care and 64 Low Care places, including 2 respite rooms.

Westminster staff are committed to maintaining a culture of continuous improvement to ensure that residents’ clinical care needs and life style preferences are met.

The facility is located close to West Lakes Shopping Mall with train and bus transport close by.
The Village News is a newsletter that keeps residents informed of happenings around the home. Residents are encouraged to have input to the management of the facility through regular Residents Meetings and participation in surveys.
Our chef works from a four weekly menu. Family and guests are welcome to share a meal with residents at a small cost with one day’s notice. Special diets and cultural foods are included in the menu.
Laundry services are provided Monday-Friday so return of clothes may take longer over weekends or public holidays. Items are normally collected and returned the next day. Items that cannot be laundered in an industrial washing machine and dryer are the responsibility of family members.
A hairdresser visits weekly. Charges are very reasonable and residents are billed for this service.
Individual pets are not permitted at Westminster however visits are accommodated.
All entrances are fitted with a keypad lock for the security of wandering residents and are then locked at night. In the event of a fire alarm all doors automatically unlock. The facility has external camera admission security facilities for use after business hours.
Westminster is designated as smoke free. Smoking is only permitted in the courtyard / garden areas.
Our Uniting Church Chaplain conducts open Christian services on Thursday mornings and all residents are welcome. Visiting Roman Catholic ministry is available and all other faiths are encouraged to provide ministry to our residents on site. Individual support is available on an as needed basis.
Low Care
Westminster Village’s low care facility, completed in 2003, provides modern, attractive aged care accommodation in an individual villa stye. Each villa houses 16 residents in single rooms with ensuite facilities.
Each room is furnished with a wardrobe and bedside cabinet. Residents are welcome to bring small items of furniture such as a television, comfortable chair, photos, paintings or other personal items.
Westminster Low Care has access to a registered nurse at all times and activity coordinators are employed to assist residents in meeting lifestyle preferences within the confines of community living.
A large Function Room is available for community activities; tea and coffee making facilities are provided and several smaller lounges are available for entertaining family and friends. A private garden area in the centre of the facility will allow residents to access the outdoors safely.
’Aging in place’ means that every effort will be made, in consultation with residents and their care givers, to meet individual resident needs at their point of initial, admission (in this case our low care hostel area). However where a resident’s health needs demand specialised attention, transfers within the facility to our higher care areas will require negotiation with site management.
High Care
Accommodation is provided in single and share rooms with ensuite or nearby bathrooms. Each room is furnished with a bed, wardrobe and bedside cabinet. Residents are welcome to bring small items of furniture such as a television or comfortable chair along with photos, paintings or other personal items. This is restricted only by what will fit in the room without impinging on the safety of staff work practices, the space of another resident if sharing a room, the physical structure of the room and emergency service access.
A large Day Room is available for community activities and there are smaller lounge rooms available for entertaining family and friends. Two enclosed patio areas are available to allow residents to access the outdoors safely.

Westminster High Care has access to a registered nurse at all times and activity coordinators are employed five days a week to assist residents in meeting lifestyle preferences within the confines of community living.
