High Care

High Care is provided at six facilities. The provision of care is governed by the Aged Care Act 1997, administered by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing.  ACAT approval is required for admission.

All UCWPA facilities have been accredited by The Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency, which ensures that quality care is maintained.  All services actively pursue excellence and value consumer feedback from residents, relatives and local communities. A process of ongoing assessment for all residents ensures that individual care needs are catered for. Visiting service providers and links with local public hospitals facilitate access to specialized services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, medical specialists and palliative care.

Each facility is managed by the Director of Nursing (DON), who is a Registered Nurse, and supported by highly trained and skilled staff. Additional corporate services are provided by UCWPA Head Office staff allowing the Director of Nursing to focus on direct care needs of residents. Prospective residents and their families/carers are welcome to visit facilities by appointment.
