Mr Peter Bicknell

Mr Bicknell is UCWPA Board Chair following 10 years as CEO. He has an extensive background in Human Services policy development and leadership in areas including Health, Housing, Children’s Services, Mental Health, Aged Care, Social Inclusion and the Environment in both Government and Non Governmental contexts. Currently Peter is Chair of the UnitingCare Australia’s National Committee, Portway Housing Association, Wesley Social Enterprises and several Environmental liaison groups. He is a member of the Energy Industry Ombudsman Board, the UCWPA Board Executive and Finance Committee. Most recently, Peter has been appointed as a Commissioner with the National Mental Health Commission and Chair of the Port Adelaide Master Plan Steering Committee.

   

Mr John Hill PSM
Board Treasurer
B Ec.

Mr Hill spent his entire career in the South Australian Department of Treasury and Finance, retiring in 2002 as Deputy Chief Executive. His working career spanned all the main activities of the Department including budget formulation, economic policy, Commonwealth-State financial relations, insurance and risk management, accounting policy and corporate support. John is presently a Commissioner of the State’s economic regulator, the Essential Services Commission of South Australia, Treasurer of Meals on Wheels Inc. and a member of the Audit and Risk Committees of the University of Adelaide and two State Government Departments. John Chairs the UCWPA Finance Committee and is a member of the Board Executive.

   

Mrs Debbie Myhill

LLB.

Mrs Myhill has a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Adelaide. She has experience in private legal practice and in other roles including senior management of a professional registration board and chairmanship of a government regulatory body. Debbie is currently in public legal practice. A member of the Board since 1988 Debbie brings legal experience and an empathy for the charitable sector to her role. She is a member of the UCWPA Board Executive and Finance Committee.

   

Mr Gary Wilson

Mr Wilson brings a wealth of experience in the areas of mental health, community health, disability services and housing. He was the Executive Director of Shelter SA for nearly 10 years, advocating that housing is a basic human right. Gary also has experience in Social Work, Human Resource Management and governance in both Government and Non-Government sectors and is a member of the South Australian Council of Social Services policy committee. He is a graduate of Mt. Eliza Australian Management College.

   

Dr Paul Kilvert

B.A. (Hons), Dip Ed, PhD

Dr Kilvert is the Chief Executive of the SACE Board of South Australia, the statuatory authority responsible for the South Australian Certificate of Education. Prior to this appointment he has been a senior executive in the Department of Education and Children's Services, in positions of responsibility for departmental policy and planning, as well as operational oversight of the department's Schools and Children's Services. He was Principal of Unley High School from 1990 - 1999. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

   
Mrs Gloria Parker

Mrs Parker has a wide experience in management and consulting including Customer Service, Accounting, Data Management and Marketing and Operational areas. Gloria is a consultant in strategic management, marketing and general management in both the profit and not-for-profit sectors and has lengthy experience in Uniting Church administration and governance. She is a graduate of Mt. Eliza Australian Management College and is an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.
   

Mr John Berry

Mr Berry is Principal Engineer of JBA Services Engineering Consultants and Project Managers. He has been involved with a number of major projects in Australia and overseas with particular expertise in Mechanical, Air conditioning, Electrical and Fire services design engineering and documentation. He has held senior management positions with Carrier air conditioning in engineering, marketing and financial roles and also been responsible for a number of projects in the position as Project Manager. John holds a commercial ships master certification for charter vessels and is an experienced yacht master.  He is a member of the Aged Care and Property Committee.

   

 

Rev John Watt

The Rev John Watt is a retired Uniting Church minister with thirty years experience in Human Service delivery. During his career John was Superintendent/CEO of both Port Pirie Central Mission and Wesley Mission Ipswich as well as Chair of the Aged Care Australia national conference. John is a member of the South Australia UnitingCare Commission where he is convenor of its Governance Working Group and serves as a project manager. He was first appointed to the board of the then Port Adelaide Central Mission in 1972 returning after a break in 2004.  John is the Chair of the Aged Care and Property Committee.

   

 

Rev Vikki Waller

The Rev Vikki Waller’s early career was in the area of banking and finance in the U.K. (Member of the Institute of Bankers) and later in Adelaide. Since 1995 she has served as a Uniting Church Minister and member of the Board of UnitingCare Wesley Bowden. From 2000- 2006 she was CEO of South Australian Council of Churches overseeing staff, volunteers and Christmas Bowl projects.  Currently Vikki Chairs the building redevelopment programme at Pilgrim Church and is a Fellow and current President of the Royal South Australian Society of Arts and Treasurer of the Embroiderers’ Guild. Vikki is a member of the Board of Portway Housing Association and the Communities for Children Allocations committee.

   
 

Ms Libby Craft

Ms Craft has extensive experience in Human Services having worked for over 25 years within State and Federal Governments as well as the non government sector. Libby has worked in direct service provision, advocacy, policy, research and community development. Prior to being appointed to the position of CEO in January 2006 Libby worked for UCWPA as Deputy CEO and Senior Manager Organisational Development.
